I didn’t always have such an edgy opener...
I was once an academically under-achieving engineer who felt boxed into a career path
I didn’t want. At the time, I thought it was “too late” to make a change.
I got my masters at an Ivy League university, then became a corporate consultant at a
prestigious firm.
It was a "great job," but the lifestyle (or lack thereof) forced me to give up two of my most sacred values—health and freedom.
I eventually became the business owner I wanted to be and was doing a lot, but making nothing happen.
At each point, I looked successful, but didn’t feel it.
The greatest stresses came at times when I could not see a compelling future. But now
I know those times led to the greatest growth.
Only later did I realize that all the ups and downs, the triumphs and tribulations, the ecstasy and depression, the growth, etc., were all part of a journey. The story of this journey gave it meaning and meaning gave it power.
In my drive to seek achievement, I learned that the top keys were:
• A sense of clarity in what I really wanted
• A compelling mission I could be passionate about
• An understanding of how I could serve others with my strengths
• A tenacity in deal making
• Finding the one big thing that matters most, over and over and over again
• And the story skills to bring it all together, sell, and compel
My story is one of spending a decade seeking out the best schools, companies, practices, gurus, and coaches in the world to learn the universal principles that govern life and business… the best practices that drive growth… the most effective methods to help humans get where they need to be.
The overarching mission has been to understand who I am, apply it to what I do, and maximize my impact toward the creation of a fulfilling future.
Through experimentation, exploring new thoughts, extracting the insights, and helping humans, I’ve found some things that work.
While I understand that I am "in-progress,” as is this material, I am excited to share with you the principles and processes that have helped me and helped others take an ambition deep in a mind’s eye and make it a reality.
The saving grace in all this is that no drastic change or transformation is necessary (unless you want it!)…
It’s about claiming the best of who you are, understanding your natural and developed strengths, better serving those you already do, attracting people who need you and want to work with you, and creating impact that extends beyond you.
I commend you for taking this step with me. Let’s go for it.
Love and respect,
Matt
